Festival Must Haves

Another post for my festival series I've been doing recently to get everyone in the summery mood!
I've been browsing online to find some cool bits I can bring with me to Reading; just fun bits that probably aren't essential but I need them in my life

This one is definitely an essential for a British festival, who knows what the weather will be like, so this lightweight mac from Alice Takes A Trip is perfect. Love the pastel pink and giant storm cloud on the back
This festival kit from Topshop looks really good - I mainly need the compactable cup and ear buds. But it also comes with a whistle, tissues, hair chalk and a few other bits. Bit of a novelty, but you get your money's worth
If you've always wanted to try out colourful hair, festivals are great time to do it. These hair chalk highlights in Brazen from flashmob come with 3 amazing colours, and will distract from unwashed hair whilst you're away
Another essential, in my opinion, is this adorable Audiology portable phone charger from Urban Outfitters. They come in loads of colours and it's always better to be safe than sorry and purchase one of these before you go so you can stay in contact with your friends, and people back at home just in case.
Another popular way to cover a bad hair day at a festival is to chuck on a flower garland, and i adore this one from Monki. Everyone can pull them off, and why not wear massive flowers on your head whilst you're in the mosh pit? Have fun with it right!?
One of my favourite things at Reading last year was the silent disco, and these 'Electric Kisses' lipsticks from Flashmob would have looked so good in the neon lights whilst my friends and I were dancing away. And there's a colour for every night.
And if you really wanted to push the boat out, you can wear these 'Superstar Nova' intensifying eyeliners as well (or rock eyes instead of lips). The colours of these are super pretty and will brighten up any tired eyes too!
Lastly on my list of festival must haves, are these hair rings from Regal Rose. The feathers will give you a cool boho vibe, and you can wear these all the time, not just at festivals or in the sun.

What are you're must haves this festival season? And what you excited to see or do this summer? Let me know!

Coat feat Shoes

The weather in England has not been too good the past couple days, and it is making me long for chilly autumn days were everyone is wrapped up in cosy scarves, big coats, lots of layers and more substantial footwear. This post is inspired by my longing for this; as I have begun searching for some A/W winter pieces - mainly coats and shoes.

Here are three coat and shoe combos - all shoes are from Spy Love Buy

Coat: Missguided - Emila Zip Detail Biker Coat - £44.95
Shoes: Spy Love Buy - Zandro Block Heel Platform Chelsea Ankle Boot - £32.95

Black coat + black boots = perfect A/W outfit.

Coat: Topshop - Bleach Borg Denim Jacket - £58
Shoes: Spy Love Buy - Josephine Lace Up Platform Creeper Sneaker - £21.95

A lined denim jacket looks effortlessly cool on a warmer autumns day, and I love the edge creepers give any outfit.

Coat: Whistles - Holly Longline Coat - £295
Shoes: Spy Love Buy - Thunder Block Heel Tractor Tread Mule Shoes - £42.95

I just really want a long, duster style, coat for the colder weather and I love these monster heels to go with it.

Lots of love, Nikki. xxxxx

OOTD - Casual Dinner

Went to dinner at Benson Blakes in Bury St Edmunds; it's really cool for my little town, with raw wood interior and rustic food. I had the Dragon Slayer burger with onion rings, and pineapple, passionfruit and mango fruit (because I was driving)

*apologies for the terrible photo, I don't know what it's done to the colour of the jeans*

Kimono - Boohoo.com
Top - New Look
Jeans - Topshop
Sliders - Primark
Bag - Charity Shop
Necklace - Bleached Jewellery

Mini Haul Time Feat. Me Trying To Be All Arty

The weather recently has been too good to not take advantage of in every way; and that includes making my photo's look all pretty and cool by using my overgrown, bohomian garden. Haul time!

This bag was about £3 from my local Oxfam! Bargain. I always go to charity shops, as my friends love them, but I never seem to find anything I really like. However, I saw this on display and knew immedietely I wanted it. It is so practical; holds loads of stuff; looks cool with most outfits; and most importantly will look sick at Reading! YES! Winner bag.

This super cute halter crop top is from motelrocks.com, and comes in loads of prints, but I love the yellow and the lemon print for summer. The straps cross at the back, and you definitely can not wear a bra with this one, but it looks cool with high waisted jean, shorts, skirts, anything really. Really cool piece to mix up my wardrobe.

I got this shirt last week from a vintage store called Retro Vintage, in Colchester. I'd never been to the store before, although I've been shopping in Colchester quite a few times now. It's obviously a mens shirt, so it's oversized and baggy, and it's really 70's, When I first found it, I was a bit like mmm, maybe not for me, but I think it looks really nice one. It's just a laidback kind of shirt, but makes you stand out. And looks good with denim everything! :P It was also £5 - bargain!

I bought this necklace from Bleached Jewellery, to go with my prom dress. I love the amethyst stone, and the grunge style of it with the moon face above. It was really good price, I love everything from the store, and it sits at a really nice length. P.S, how cool is this coral thing we have in our garden - I don't think it's real.

Another motelrocks item; the moon & stars leggings. Had my eye on these for ages, and finally got them! I got them in a small, as most reviews say to size down, and they fit really nice, but I think maybe a medium would have been better for me. I usually roll the legs up, where a baggy tee or vest with them and they just look really good and make you look really unique. When I wear them about in my little town I definitely get a few glances.

This mint green sleeveless top/dress was £3.99 from H&M! That is why I bought it, it was £3.99! I'm still not overly sure how much I like this item, I've worn it as both a tee and dress, but I think it's so simple and in such a lovely colour I have to keep it and try it out some more.

These trousers have never been worn out of the house, because I feel like a clown in them. However, they are super comfy, actually look quite good and I love the colour and the print, so they perfect for lounging in the house or in the garden in. They're from peacocks, which I never usually shop in. And were such an impulse buy, but I can not say a bad word about them. Maybe I'll be more adventurous and bust them out on holiday.

This is my last item, a pair of round tortoise shell sunglasses from Topshop! Yay. I really needed some new sunglasses, but I didn't want to spend too much. And after spending a decent amount of time in Topshop trying out all the different sunglasses with my best friend I decided on these. They were £18, I believe, and you also get your choice of a funky coloured case to put them in - I choose orange, because it is summer after all. I literally wear these all the time, I wasn't sure about the shape to be honest, but now I think that anyone could pull of the round shape. And tortoise shell is just timeless. 110% recommend!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and my attempts at creating some snazzy photo's,

Mini Haul

In a past post I said I'd given up shopping for lent, but as you've guessed from my last post I did break a week early (although I do think I still lasted the 40 days as I did start lent 2 weeks early). So in the past week I've bought a couple of things and I wanted to share them with you all.

First is this Sirene ring from Bleached Jewellery, it was £3.50 which I thought was a great price for the size. I fell in love with the cool rock stone thing on the ring, each ring is slightly different because they hand cut each stone when you order it. It also has a stretchy metal band, so you can alter it to fit any finger.

I featured these rings in my last post, and I thought they were really simple and easy to wear. They are from Topshop and online they are £6.50, but I actually got them for £2.50 in the sale at my local Topshop store, so it's probably best to pop into a store to see what they've got in their sale, you never know what you mind find; Topshop sales I find are very hit and miss. These 3 plain rings are also midi rings, as you can tell by the above photo, of my hand, and they look really cool with everything I've tried at the moment.

Another piece of jewellery is this necklace from Bleached Jewellery again, it was £3.50 so a bargain and it can be worn as a loose necklace but I like to wear it as a choker. I don't think they sell the Hamsa one anymore, but they have other versions of this necklace, and just loads of cool pieces that are worth checking out.

The first piece of clothing I got was this black a-symmetrical skirt from Topshop, that I can't actually find online, but it was £20 and I thought it was a great price for Topshop and for such a cool cut skirt. I find that cropped tops work better with this than tucking a regular shirt into it, but it looks really cool and edgy with certain pieces, for example my leather jacket.

From Motel Rocks I got this cool Boxy crop top, I love the colour and the pattern (I have a dress with the red version of this pattern) and it looks really cool with black bottoms and my chocker necklace. It was £25, but you can get a 20% discount with my discount code 'simpleenough'. I read the reviews and a lot of them mentioned the head hole being a bit tight to actually get over your head, but as I have a bigger than average head (yep, laugh at me) I didn't think much of it and with a regular sized head I'd imagine the hole would be fine. :D One thing that did worry me was that I ordered a medium, but got sent a small, but it actually fits perfectly and still covers the necessary areas.

Lastly, I got these New Look cut out chunky sandals, £27.99. I did want the lower strapped ones, but they had sold out in my size so bought the high topped ones, but I absolutely love them! I haven't actually worn these out the house yet as they got delivered this afternoon, but they are really comfortable so far and easy to walk in, and look really cool. One thing I would mention is that I got a size 5 but they are slightly too big. But other than that they are the perfect shoes for spring/summer as I can wear socks and tights with them when it's a bit chilly or bare footed when it's warmer.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I so much prefer talking about what I actually own; and if your nosey like me you'll enjoy these more personal posts too.
Don't forget I do have a Motel Rocks discount 'simpleenough' like I mentioned earlier, so use that to get 20% off all your orders, and I will be back again next week!

Lots of love, Nikki. xxxxx
